Mission
We both grew up as inner-city Chicago kids, albeit on exact opposite sides of the city. Northside or Southside, neither one of us came from any kind of means that would have enabled us to create without having to be highly resourceful to do so. Everything was DIY and cherry-picked literally from the garbage, yard sales, hand-me-downs, and thrift stores. Hence: Trashgoblins. We understand very well that there's a bottom dollar that precludes a lot of people from creating. Sometimes the price of a tool or a material is enough to forgo the project for folks. Sometimes learning to use them is overwhelming and it's hard to justify spending money on the stuff only to screw it up. We are here to help. For us, making the thing isn't any fun if we aren't doing it with friends. No cosplayer, artist, or creator of any kind left behind. If you have it in your heart to do this stuff, Trashgoblins HQ has the means. It's our home, and it's open to aspiring Gobbies of all kinds!

While Trashgoblins HQ is still very much in the early phases of becoming a community create/event space, our door is open if you are. We want our home to feel like home to anyone and everyone that needs a place to work, needs help with a project, or just needs good company while doing their thing. We want to create a true community of folks - nay: friends - building on each others' knowledge and experience and lifting each other up. We aspire to grow with our Goblin brethren and bring that energy with us wherever our varying nerdy paths may lead us. We want to inspire people to be leaders in this community; to promote love, community, friendship, and inclusivity here and everywhere our journies take us.
